The Order of Nine Angles (ONA, O9A, ω9α) employs a variety of specialist esoteric terms, such as nexion, presencing, acausal, Tree of Wyrd, The Star Game, and so on. It needs to be understood that the O9A employs some now generally used exoteric terms – such as psyche, and archetype – in a particular and precise esoteric way, and thus such terms should not be considered as being identical to those used by others and defined, for example, by people such as CG Jung. This glossary explains the most commonly used technical terms of the O9A esoteric tradition. Many of the terms have a dual meaning: an outer (exoteric) one and an inner (esoteric) one. This version of the glossary supersedes previous versions.

Only a few people outside of the Occult cognoscenti realize that the past three years of propaganda, allegations, lies, and fallacies made about the O9A – beginning with a 2018 article in the on-line Quietus music magazine and continued to this day by a certain antifascist political interest group and its supporters – has positively added to the Labyrinthos Mythologicus of the Order of Nine Angles and thus is beneficial to the O9A.
Positively added to the Labyrinthos Mythologicus and beneficial to the O9A because such propaganda, allegations, lies, and fallacies have – together with the The Big Lie (große Lüge) technique – further obscured what the O9A, in reality, is and was, at least for the majority.

The septenary system, or tradition, of the modern occult group the Order of Nine Angles (ONA/O9A) was first publicly outlined in their 1980s text Naos – A Practical Guide To Modern Magick.
Of particular interest is the fact that, in Naos, the internal sorcery used to bring about personal development is also called ‘physis magick’:
“Physis is divided into seven stages and these seven stages may be regarded as representing the varying degrees of insight attained. In terms of traditional magick, the stages represent Initiation, Second Degree Initiation, External Adept, Internal Adept, Master/Mistress (or High Priest/Priestess), Magus and Immortal. Each stage is associated with a sphere of the Septenary Tree of Wyrd.”
Physis is a clear use of the ancient Greek term φύσις, which term occurs frequently in the Pymander (also known as the Pœmandres) section of the ancient Greek text of the Corpus Hermeticum, dating from around the second century CE and first published in 1554 CE, and which Pymander discourse also describes, in some detail, a system of seven spheres; a journey, a quest – an anados, ἄνοδος – up through these spheres in order that the last stage, that of an immortal, may be achieved; and how the individual is changed in the process of journeying through the spheres.
It therefore would seem difficult to disagree with the claim made in Naos that the O9A’s septenary system – with its seven-fold Tree of Wyrd – represents, at least in part, the ‘genuine Western occult tradition’, in contrast to the ten-fold Kabbalah based system used by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, by Aleister Crowley, and by all other, non-O9A, modern occultists, and which ten-fold Kabbalah based system is not only over a thousand years later than the Hellenic septenary system but employs Hebrew terminology in contrast to the Greek terminology of the earlier hermetic tradition

What I prefer to call ONA 1.0 – the first iteration or release or version of “the order of nine angles” – was in 1989 with the publication of the 127 page Naos text. ONA 1.0 was contained in the Naos MS and supplemented by the novels of the Deofel Quintet published between 1976 and 1992, and which six texts were all that were required for an individual or a partnership to embark upon the Seven Fold Way and complete a study of ONA esotericism. Presented here as a self-contained gratis document are the texts of ONA 1.0, including a facsimile copy of Naos, enabling those interested to follow the simple ONA way of sorcery.

The Diary of an Internal Adept is a remarkable document that deserves to be better known. The text is a transcription of the handwritten journal of an Occult initiate written in the 1990s: an honest and revelatory narration of the three-month long Order of Nine Angles Grade Ritual of Internal Adept undertaken in the Outer Hebrides, and makes it evident that the anados (ἄνοδος) of the O9A Seven Fold Way is a personal, a difficult, and an essentially pagan, quest which in its fourth (Internal Adept) stage involves, as one reviewer wrote, “complete oblivion for the ego”. In an understated way the diary reveals the allegations, the assumptions, the misinformation, the propaganda, the rants, of O9A critics and of the politically motivated opponents of the O9A for the assumptions, the misinformation, the propaganda, the rants, that they are.
